Today is my Mom’s birthday. I usually write her a long sappy card or letter about how blessed I feel to have her as my mom and this year, I thought I would share a part of that letter here.
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for supporting me.
Thank you for never leaving my side even when others did.
Thank you for driving me to the cancer centre.
Thank you for being with me for my appointments and surgeries.
Thank you for sitting with me for every treatment in an uncomfortable chair.
Thank you for being with me for my chemo injections and watching me stab myself three times a week.
Thank you for giving me my injections of chemo when I can’t do it myself.
Thank you for watching toxic drugs drip into my veins.
Thank you for your sacrifices.
Thank you for your strength and for being strong for me when I need it the most.
Thank you for loving me through it all.
I could go on and on but simply: thank you. I wish I could give you the world for what you have given me (especially everything within the past ten months).
I love you, Mom. Happy birthday!
